As part of our Aims, (see below) we actively promote exchanges between the two towns of either individuals or Social/Sporting groups.
Last year we have just enjoyed a marvellous weekend during which a party of 45 guests from Mortain, including their town Mayor, other officials, families and friends came over via ferry from Cherbourg.
Many new friendships were formed and some very old established relationships were re-kindled. It was particularly poignant as several individuals who had helped set up the original twinning and the signing of the Charters, on both sides, were re-united after these 30 years.
There is a packed programme of entertainment and sightseeing arranged for us this year (please see separate note under Exchanges 2017).
July 2015 Last year we enjoyed the company of a young lady (teenager) from Mortain, whose family have participated in the Twinning Weekends. Her name is Clothilde,
She stayed with the Thornewill family in the town centre and we were pleased to meet her at the family day BBQ.
If you too would like to host an exchange person of any age, please contact me… thank you Martin
